Yoga has been, and continues to be, well researched by medical science in India. In the last 18 years, Western Science has become interested in the medical benefits of Yoga, and many of the studies conducted appear in such Journals as The Lancet, Journal of Clinical Psychology, the Journal of American Medical Association, Neurology and other renowned medical and scientific journals. The (American) National Academy of Science includes Yoga and Meditation practices as part of Complimentary and Alternative Medicine. Some American Medical Insurance companies recognize Yoga as a form of Alternative Therapy.
